Vegas Babe!

One of the wonderful trips I had this summer, Vegas with my eternal girl friends. We have been friends for over 15years. It was great to eat, shop, swim, lay out, see a show, a little gambling, but mostley just hanging out and talk. Almost everyone could come but due to baby's and other life events there were some that didn't make it and we sure missed you. It was fun but when everone isn't there you can tell there is a hole. And of course there are always stories when we get together, the resturant.

Emmy's First Birthday

We celebrated Emmy's 1st birthday a week early due to family being gone. Thursday, her birthday, was a pretty busy day, so I totally forgot it was her birthday. That is strike two for me this year in remembering the girls birthdays, I also forgot Aspens when scheduling a trip, whoops! We are so blessing to have amazing friends who invited us over for dinner, cake, and singing for her real birthday. As you can see from the pictures Emmy has found a new love of frosting and has no shame. Emmy adores the Orth's kids and it was so much fun to celebrate it with them.
 Singing Happy Birthday

 She wanted to share
PS the next morning i found Emmy in the trash can eating an half eaten cupcake that I had thrown away just the frosting. I guess there is no going back now.

Emmy's 1st Birthday

While I have time and it is fresh in on my mind I will post about Emmy's Birthday and get back to the fun summer trips later this week. We were actually going to have her Birthday Party on her birthday but Brady will be traveling to Japan for two weeks so we moved it up a week. She was all smiles and laughs until 6:30-6:45 hit then it was bed time. We are so lucky to live by so much family and good friends to celebrate her birthday with us. We did a butterfly theme, well when i say"we" i mean me. Aspen helped me put up balloons and butterflies so when Emmy woke up from her nap she was laughing and loved all the decorations, especially the streamers. We had pizza and played some of Emmy's favorite things, bubbles and the parachute, and of course sang Happy Birthday. This was the first time she really had any cake....okay okay the first time we have given her any sweets, we were out of town for 11 days so there is no telling what she ate while she was with Grammy and Gigi.  She almost at the whole big cup cake, poor thing i think she was sick when she went to bed. She sure loves to eat.
Now my motherly speal on how amazing Emmy is. We are so lucky to have her part of our family, she is only one, but she always know how to make us laugh especially when it is needed. She is a determined little girl and very adventurous. She can eat more then the three of us put together. The best hugger ever! My favorite parts of the day, when she wakes up in the morning and is so excited to see me that she flapping her arms and moving every part of her body that most of the time she falls and hits her head but that doesn't bother her she stands back up and does it again. And at night before bed cuddling with her in the rocking chair. We love Emmy, where has the year gone!

We LOVE to travel but Brady and I haven't gone on a trip by ourselves since we have had kids. Brady decided it was time. He planned his dream vacation to Alaska for us. I did nothing but pack and waited, not even sure I could leave the kids for 10days. We are lucky enough to have both sets of Grandparents close, so the each took 5 days. We got to talk to the kids everyday which was nice. The trip was wonderful and beautiful. But I am definitely a Texan 45 degree weather in the middle of the summer was to cold for me (I think I prefer 105). We flew into Anchorage and drove 1406.4 miles around staying the night and stopping in Whitter, Homer, Talkeetna, and Seward to name a few. Over all it was an amazing trip and great to get reacquainted to my husband. We also very irresponsible, leaving my sunglasses at a restaurant, the camera broke, we had to buy a new camera then we left the battery charger at one of the cabins, the list goes on and finally to top it off we left the fishing poles on the airplane. O'well what can you do but laugh! Here are some fun pictures from the trip
